तुम इतना जो मुस्कुरा रहे हो! क्या गम है जिसको छुपा रहे हो?
11 years ago, as I sat down on the floor to have dinner with my grandparents, my आजी exclaimed its time to watch "Pavitra Rishta". I sighed and was about to leave when i took a glance at the screen. As a nine year old that was my first encounter with what I still consider as one of the cutest, charming face I have ever seen in my life.आजी brought me back from my trance by uttering the same exact word that i involuntarily did, "waah". That was the magic of my Manav,- Sushant Singh Rajput.
The real evidence for our generation that any outsider can make it big in the B-Town was rather is SSR. From Manav to Anni he captivated his audiences with his pure innocence and conviction. I remember reading one of his interviews where he stated that "engineering was never my choice", the rebellious teenager in me decided that at that moment maybe business is not my choice either, and I should try my luck in acting (of course my balloon busted sooner than later) but that was his nature of work which spoke volumes about his hard-work and dedication and inspired many to dream big.
Personally it was his dance that wooed me over again in Jhalak Dikhlaja 4, and he was wooed to dance to fulfill his desire to meet girls, this is a proof that how silly wishes can change someone's path of life completely.
The need to express, the medium to communicate and the opportunity to live is what ART offers to a person, Sushant came into this field to express, his advice for the newcomers was do not do this for the fame or money, do it for passion do it for expression do it for your need of creation. These are the words to live by for any profession. He did get affected by the fact that how fickle the Fridays are, but his roots made him stay true to himself. At the end we all need to remember that 'Even though we have touched the sky and our head is in the clouds, held very high. But our feet should always remain on the ground, because permanent success and failure both are a lie and not to be found.'
We as a society failed to protect not only Sushant but the countless brave hearts who decided that the pain was enough and chose an option which was once unthinkable. Depression is not only about failures both personally and professionally, but it includes a sense of confusion even though the path might seem clear, it includes the fear and feeling of loneliness even though the person might be surrounded with loved ones, it includes the smile which hides a thousand tears, it can be anything, hence please be aware of the behavior of the ones around you.
The times are tough, and we can sail through it only when we all stand united with each other. We need to remember that our mental health requires our attention, our care, it requires a candid conversation , because communication is the key to any door which has been locked. And to all those brave warriors remember you are not alone, you don't have to struggle in silence, we understand it is a bad day, a bad period, a bad phase but it is not a bad life all together.
Life is a journey not a destination, so please it is a humble request from a fellow traveler to you, 'cherish this journey and wander on the untrodden paths, live your live trying to not to worry about the before and the aftermaths.'
